Arm Exercises
1. Triceps extensions with EZ bar: Flexbands® are mounted on the bar and anchored to the bench of the floor to modify the strength curve in the triceps extensions. The idea is again to apply more resistance where the muscles can lift more, towards the end of the movement. The ratio of elastic to free weight resistance can be changed however, it is recommended to have at least 50%-60% of the total resistance in the form of free weight (usually more). Example: an athlete used to performing extensions with a 100LBS bar could use an 80LBS bar and add a mini band to each side to increase the total resistance at the end of the lift to 130LBS. Bands used: Mini, Monster Mini, Light, Average
2. Triceps extensions with pulley: Flexbands® are mounted on the attachment as shown in the photos to modify the strength curve in the triceps extensions. The idea is again to apply more resistance where the muscles can lift more, towards the end of the movement. The ratio of elastic to free weight resistance can be changed however, it is recommended to have at least 50%-60% of the total resistance in the form of free weight (usually more). Bands used: Mini, Monster Mini, Light, Average.
3. Triceps extensions with band only: To be used as an alternative to other tricep movements or when an athlete needs to strengthen the muscle specifically towards the lockout position. Bands used: Mini, Monster Mini, Light, Average, Strong.
4. Triceps extensions with band only – piston movement: A good movement for unilateral work. Usually done for higher repetition ranges. Bands used: Mini, Monster Mini, Light, Average
